我校校友赵炼当选2024年度 IEEE Fellow

日，国际电气和电子工程师协会（IEEE）公布了2024年度新当选会士（Fellow）结果，全球共323人入选。taptap下载安装安卓1986级校友、加拿大多伦多都会大学（Toronto Metropolitan University）教授、博士生导师，无线通信研究领域杰出的科学家赵炼女士，当选2024年度IEEE Fellow。
赵炼，1990年本科毕业于taptap下载安装安卓（原中国民用航空学院）无线电技术专业 （8605），以全年级第一名的优秀成绩取得学士学位；1993年取得武汉大学硕士学位；2002年获得加拿大滑铁卢大学（University of Waterloo）电气与计算机工程系博士学位。于2003年加入加拿大多伦多都市大学（Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly known as Ryerson University）电气、计算机和生物医学工程系任职助理教授 （Assistant Professor），并于2014年获教授职称。研究方向包括无线通信，无线资源管理，功率控制，认知无线电和合作通信，复杂系统优化等。
Prof. Zhao is an outstanding researcher highly respected by the professional community for her outstanding contributions. She has made a wide variety of crucial contributions that have led to fundamental scientific breakthroughs and advancements. Her research excellence is reflected in over 230 top-tier journal/conference papers and prestigious awards, including Best Land transportation Paper award from IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, numerous Best Paper awards from IEEE conferences, New Opportunities Award from Canada Foundation Innovation, and IEEE Leadership Awards from IEEE and from IEEE Toronto Section.
Prof. Zhao has been a leader and an expert in the profession and in the society. She is an elected member for Board of Governors (BoG) of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, a Distinguished Lecture (DL) from IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and IEEE Communication Society. She has been on the editorial board of numerous prestigious IEEE top journals, including Associate Editor-in-Chief for China Communications;an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. She has been a General Chair and various other chair positions in the organizing committees for IEEE conferences and symposiums; a panel expert in various provincial, federal, and international evaluation committees; a panel expert at various conferences, workshops, and symposiums; a Chair for the Professional Relations Committee of IEEE Canada; and a Chair of IEEE Toronto Section.
Prof. Zhao is an inspiring educator and mentor. She has trained generations of students who have joined academia and industry. These students are contributing to the engineering profession and society in Canada and all over the world.
Her dedication to research, teaching, and professional service has gained her respect and recognition from society, making her a role model for the younger generations.
据悉，国际电气和电子工程师学会（The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers，IEEE），是世界上最大的非营利性专业技术学会，致力于电气、电子、计算机工程和与科学有关领域的开发和研究，现已发展成为具有最大影响力的国际学术组织之一，在全球160多个国家已拥有超过40万会员。
IEEE Fellow是IEEE授予其会员的最高荣誉，也是会员的最高等级，在学术科技界被认定为权威的荣誉和重要的职业成就。当选人需要对工程科学技术的进步或应用做出重大贡献，为社会带来重大价值。当选人数不超过IEEE当年会员总人数的0.1%，当选会员均是在科学与工程技术领域取得重要成就的科学家。
