专家简介:
Dr. Ghulam Abbas is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Department of Business Administration (AACSB Accredited), Sukkur IBA University. With over 16 years of dedicated affiliation with Sukkur IBA University, he has been a stalwart figure in academia and administration alike. Currently serving as the in charge of the Financial Trade Center and the manager of the Students' Endowment Fund (SEF), he exhibits exceptional leadership and managerial skills.
He earned his doctoral degree in Management Science and Engineering from the School of Economics and Management (AACSB & AMBA Accredited), University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, in 2017. Dr. Abbas has continually pursued excellence in both his academic and professional endeavors. His illustrious journey is adorned with numerous accolades, including the esteemed CAS-TWAS President Fellowship in 2013, and recognition as the Governor's best student awardee during his MBA program in 2007.
His research interests span asset pricing, financial economics, financial econometrics, financial analysis & forecasting, corporate financial sustainability, fintech & cryptocurrency market, and interest-free microcredit and its sustainability. He has published his work in the various peer-reviewed journals, both nationally and internationally, and actively reviews the submissions of good quality journals such as International Journal Finance and Economics, Economic Modelling, China Finance Review International, International Review of Economics and Finance, Resources Policy, and Cogent of Economics and Finance etc.

This study aims to assess environmental and social Dimensions of CPEC: Sustainability Challenges and Solutions. Endangered Species:CPEC projects intersect with habitats of endangered species, including snow leopards, markhors, and Indus river dolphins, increasing threats to their survival. Habitat Degradation:Infrastructure development can lead to habitat degradation, reducing biodiversity and ecosystem services provided by natural areas. Climate Change Impacts:CPEC projects are susceptible to climate change impacts, such as extreme weather events and glacial melt, posing risks to infrastructure and ecosystems.

Establishment of a large-scale industrial park to support manufacturing, logistics, and trade activities. Phase 3: Free Trade Zone. Creation of a free trade zone to attract foreign investment and promote international trade.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a transformative initiative announced in 2015, expected to be completed by 2030. Enhances trade, connectivity, and economic integration through a transportation network. The construction and operational phases of CPEC face significant environmental challenges. The transportation sector is a significant contributor to environmental issues. Solar energy can be a promising renewable energy source to replace fossil fuels. It has Attracted significant global investment, particularly in Europe, China, and the United States. By 2030, Pakistan aims for 30% of its locally manufactured vehicles to be electric, supporting a transition to sustainable transportation.
