讲座主题:The role of digital twins in transportation system resilience
主 讲 人:Professor Stephan Onggo (University of Southampton)
讲座时间:2025年4月23日(周三)9:00
讲座地点:学术交流中心第十一会议室
讲座提要:
Digital twins are increasingly recognized as a strategic infrastructure component in nations such as China, the UK, the EU, the US, and Singapore. This lecture will explore the potential benefits and challenges of implementing digital twins to enhance transportation system resilience. We will begin with an overview of disaster risk management, followed by an introduction to digital twins and their key components, including modelling and simulation. Subsequently, we will examine specific use cases demonstrating how digital twins can improve transportation system resilience during disaster events. The lecture will conclude with a discussion session, allowing the class to explore diverse applications of digital twins in supporting disaster-resilient transportation systems.
主讲人简介:
Professor Stephan Onggo is a Professor of Business Analytics and Associate Dean of Internationalisation at Southampton Business School, the University of Southampton and a member of the Centre for Operational Research, Management Science and Information Systems (CORMSIS). His research focuses on simulation modelling methodologies, including symbiotic simulation, digital twins, hybrid modelling, agent-based simulation, discrete-event simulation, system dynamics, and sim heuristics. He applies these methodologies to various fields, such as supply chain management, disaster management, and health care. Currently, he is serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Simulation (since 2015) and as Area Editor (Simulation) for the Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal (since 2023). He is a General Council member of The Operational Research Society (since 2020). As a member of the INFORMS Simulation Society, he has been involved in the organisation of several Winter Simulation Conferences. Previously, he was a Gambrinus Fellow at TU Dortmund (2023/24) and chaired the Simulation Special Interest Group of The Operational Research Society (2019–2022).
